Promotion of Landscape and Pedestrian Environment Improvement Project around Seodaemun Hongje Waterfall
Installation of Metal Mirrors on Walls, Pavement Maintenance, Application of Logo Design, etc.
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) is promoting a landscape and pedestrian environment improvement project around the ‘Seodaemun Hongje Waterfall,’ a popular urban healing spot.
This project aims to create a waterfront vitality hub blending commercial and cultural activities along the approximately 150-meter section from Hongyeon Bridge to the cafe ‘Pokpo’ (Waterfall), with construction scheduled to be completed by the end of April.
The district will install metal mirrors on some wall surfaces and the ceilings of the lower facilities in the Hongjecheon Waterfall Plaza. In particular, the wall mirrors are expected to reflect the opposite ‘Seodaemun Hongje Waterfall,’ offering a unique scenic view.
Additionally, inconsistent pavement will be uniformly renovated and improved, and the recently created ‘Seodaemun Hongje Waterfall’ logo will be actively utilized to enhance the overall landscape design with a sense of unity.
The district plans to minimize citizen inconvenience by deploying safety personnel along the popular walking path in the construction area and by proceeding with the work swiftly.
Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, stated, “We will transform the Hongjecheon area into a waterfront emotional space where local culture and street commerce grow together, allowing residents to relax comfortably.”
