Seoul Jung-gu Council and Chungnam Geumsan-gun Council Sign Exchange Agreement

Seoul Jung-gu Council and Chungnam Geumsan-gun Council Sign Exchange Agreement

The Jung-gu Council of Seoul (Chairman Gil Gi-young) signed a business agreement for mutual development between the Jung-gu Council of Seoul and the Geumsan-gun Council of Chungnam (Chairman Kim Ki-yoon) on the 14th at the Jung-gu Council small conference room.

Attending the agreement ceremony were Chairman Gil Gi-young, Vice Chairman Yoon Pan-oh, Councilors Lee Jeong-mi, Song Jae-cheon, and Jo Mi-jung from Jung-gu Council, and Chairman Kim Ki-yoon, Vice Chairman Jeong Ok-gyun, Councilors Choi Myung-soo, Park Byung-hoon, Song Young-cheon, Shim Jeong-soo, and Jeong Ki-soo from Geumsan-gun Council of Chungnam.

The cooperation began in July 2022 when Chairman Kim Ki-yoon of Geumsan-gun Council visited Jung-gu Council and proposed the idea of urban-rural exchange cooperation. Since then, Jung-gu Council and Geumsan-gun Council have continuously discussed cooperation plans, leading to the mutual promotion of sisterhood ties and business agreements.

Through this business agreement, both institutions plan to establish a future-oriented cooperative system and activate mutual visits between institutions and residents across administration, society, culture, and other areas.

Additionally, they plan to continuously explore urban-rural linkage cooperation methods through invitations and visits to local festivals and experiential learning.

As population decline and outflow in local areas accelerate, causing serious social issues of imbalance between the metropolitan area and local regions, this agreement is expected to contribute to balanced development and mutual cooperation between urban and rural areas, thereby realizing regional development and improving residents' welfare.

At the agreement ceremony held in the Jung-gu Council small conference room, key local issues were shared together, and discussions on promoting exchanges for the joint development of the local community and residents were also held.

Chairman Gil Gi-young expressed his thoughts, saying, "I hope that the two councils, each with different regional characteristics and resources, can share legislative knowledge and information under the common denominator of regional development and residents' happiness, cooperate in a mutually beneficial direction, and achieve mutual growth together."
