In particular, concerning students' applications for leave of absence, the Ministry explained that universities were asked to clearly verify whether the procedures and requirements according to each university's academic regulations were met, to prevent students from suffering disadvantages due to incorrect choices. The Ministry also requested active cooperation from universities to ensure that medical students continue their studies without disruption and that the academic atmosphere is not weakened.

Earlier, the Emergency Response Committee of Hallym University College of Medicine released a statement through the official SNS of the Hallym University College of Medicine Medical Policy Response TF on the morning of the same day, declaring that fourth-year medical students had resolved to go on a strike and intended to submit leave of absence applications.

A Ministry of Education official stated, "As of 3 p.m. on the day, no leave of absence applications had been submitted to the university. If students apply for leave, the university will carefully review approval according to academic regulations." The official added, "We will maintain continuous cooperation with universities and keep monitoring the situation to prevent any infringement on students' right to learn due to collective actions."
