Netmarble emphasized a new leap forward this year by unveiling its highly anticipated title, "Arthdal Chronicles: Three Powers."
On the morning of the 15th, Netmarble held a media showcase to announce the new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Arthdal Chronicles.
Arthdal Chronicles is regarded as a key title expected to strengthen Netmarble's competitiveness in the gaming business and drive improvements in the company's performance. Netmarble's consolidated revenue for last year was 2.5014 trillion KRW, down 6.4% from the previous year, with an operating loss of 69.6 billion KRW. However, in the fourth quarter alone, the company recorded an operating profit turnaround of 17.7 billion KRW, signaling a turnaround. Netmarble plans to continue this momentum through the release of new titles such as Arthdal Chronicles.
Netmarble CEO Kwon Young-sik said, "Arthdal Chronicles is the first project for Netmarble's new leap forward this year," adding, "Based on excellent intellectual property (IP) interpretation skills and development experience, we will provide users with new enjoyment and experiences."
He continued, "Netmarble has reinterpreted famous IPs and introduced them to the market, receiving much love," and added, "We are confident and expect to change the landscape of the existing MMORPG market."
Arthdal Chronicles was produced through a joint venture between Netmarble and Studio Dragon. Netmarble has been co-developing the IP with Studio Dragon since season 2 of the drama "Arthdal Chronicles." The newly revealed Arthdal Chronicles was also produced through this collaboration. The game is based on the same universe as the drama and is designed around the concept of three powers?Arthdal, Ago, and the Lawless Faction?engaging in large-scale power struggles to dominate the continent of Arth.
Netmarble aimed to realize a large-scale power struggle society based on the competition and conflicts among the three powers, as well as political and economic cooperation.
Seo Woo-won, CEO of the developer Netmarble F&C, said, "While continuing the vast world of the Arthdal Chronicles IP, we have added game-specific stories and settings to expand it into a unique universe," and added, "We have prepared diligently for a long time and will do our best during the remaining period to ensure many users can enjoy the game."
Netmarble plans to simultaneously launch Arthdal Chronicles in April in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The game will be available on both mobile and PC platforms. Pre-registration has started today through the official website, Google, Apple, and KakaoTalk.
For user convenience, Netmarble will provide ▲a dedicated service department ▲AI-based measures against botting ▲an Arthdal integrated information system ▲remote services. Through the Arthdal integrated information system, users can check key information such as faction rankings and marketplace prices on the official website without logging into the game. The remote service supports PC remote play via mobile devices.
Netmarble plans to hold broadcasts with every major update. A bulletin board will be operated where users can see how their feedback is applied to the game. A creator support system is also being prepared. This system allows users to support creators without additional costs, enabling creators to produce and create high-quality content. Details will be provided through the official website in the future.
