Galaxia Moneytree, a specialist company in electronic payment settlement, achieved strong performance by maintaining steady growth in its core electronic payment business and O2O (online-to-offline) business.
On the 15th, Galaxia Moneytree announced that it recorded consolidated sales of 132.2 billion KRW and an operating profit of 10.5 billion KRW last year. These figures represent increases of 18% and 22%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
A Galaxia Moneytree official stated, “Last year, we became the first in the industry to provide credit card payment services for corporate giro payments of public utility charges, which drove the increase in credit card transaction volume and contributed to sales growth. In addition, we have consistently maintained steady growth through new products and services, such as the launch of the country’s first amount-type gift card for airline tickets.”
Pre-tax income turned to a loss due to deferred revenue recognition in accordance with the virtual asset accounting guidelines of its subsidiary, Galaxia Metaverse. According to the virtual asset accounting standards issued by the Financial Services Commission last year, companies holding virtual assets must prepare reports following the virtual asset accounting guidelines starting this year.
The official explained, “A one-time non-operating loss occurred during the consolidated accounting process related to the hacking incident that happened at Galaxia Metaverse in November last year.”
Meanwhile, Galaxia Moneytree is accelerating its token securities issuance (STO) business, a new venture, laying the foundation for additional external growth. It has currently applied for designation as an innovative financial service for non-monetary trust beneficiary certificates. It is undergoing review for the airline finance STO business. Additionally, it is preparing to submit a securities registration statement for investment contract securities related to prospective racehorses (training horses) to foster excellent domestic racehorses.
