A Total of 9 Sessions of 'Web Novel Creating Education' by the 27th
Conducted in Collaboration with Dongguk University LINC3.0 Project Group, Targeting 50 Youths
Experts from Various Fields Including Active Web Novel Writers, MDs, and PDs Participate
Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) is collaborating with Dongguk University LINC3.0 Project Group to operate the 'Web Novel Creating Education' program until the 27th. It will be held at Chungmu Startup Cube and targets 50 young people aspiring to become web novel writers.
This education program involves experts from various fields such as active web novel writers, MDs, and PDs. The program consists of a total of 9 sessions, including ▲Understanding web novel genres ▲Market trends from the perspective of web novel MDs ▲Web novel creation.
It is structured comprehensively from theory to practice to help participants not only learn the overall aspects of web novels but also acquire practical skills, thereby enhancing their overall capabilities related to content.
In particular, the 'Web Novel PD Job Special Lecture' is expected to provide participants with vivid insights into practical work and the field, as experts currently working in the industry share diverse experiences and know-how.
The district plans to connect the basic course graduates to advanced education operated by Dongguk University. By providing one-on-one creative mentoring, continuous support will be given until the young writers debut, contributing to the discovery of young writers.
Recently, web novels serialized using online platforms have become a trend. The currently popular drama "Marry My Husband" also started as a web novel and continued as a webtoon and drama. Although the content market continues to expand with well-made web novels leading to secondary creations such as webtoons, dramas, and movies, there are few places where systematic education related to this is available.
The district aims to prepare an educational course to nurture individual creators who will lead the era of content creators in line with this trend.
Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, "We have structured the program thoroughly from basic to advanced levels so that young people can develop their capabilities as individual content creators and grow as young writers," adding, "We will continue to closely monitor the rapidly changing market trends and provide young people with 'essential' advanced programs."
