Volunteer Activities Revealed on YouTube
Actress Choi Kang-hee is drawing attention by introducing her unique hobby of volunteering to pick up trash.
On the 14th, a video titled "Meeting the Master of Cleaning" was posted on Choi Kang-hee's self-operated YouTube channel, "Nado Choi Kang-hee." The video shows Choi Kang-hee joining members of the group "Clean Hikers" to volunteer picking up trash at Baekryeonsan Mountain. The activity of picking up trash while walking or hiking is called "plogging" (picking + jogging) or "Ssedam" (picking up trash). Clean Hikers refers to people who practice "clean hiking," picking up trash on the mountain.
On that day, after picking up trash on the mountain with the members, Choi Kang-hee created "junk art" using the collected trash. When asked, "How do you think it would be if there was no trash?" she humorously replied, "Actually, it should be good, but I think I would feel a bit sad," eliciting laughter.
She also shared her thoughts, saying, "This (volunteering) counts as exercise," and "It's so fun, like a treasure hunt. It makes me feel like a child again and is healing."
Having separated the trash by type and even created junk art, they urged, "When you go up the mountain, please do not litter but pick up trash like this."
