Comedian Park Soo-hong's older brother, who was prosecuted for embezzling tens of billions of won from Park's personal funds and company money, was sentenced to two years in prison in the first trial held on the 14th. Meanwhile, comedian Son Heon-su sarcastically said, "In South Korea, if you live as a victim, you are called a fool, so make sure to become a cool perpetrator." The two are known to be close friends.

On that day, Son shared an article about the first trial verdict of Park's older brother and his wife on his Instagram. He wrote, "Let me tell you how to make money easily in South Korea. First, find someone around you to siphon money from. It’s even better if it’s family. Then, create a corporation together, embezzle tens of billions, and use it for real estate and your family. It’s okay if there are many traces left here and there. Use it comfortably."

He also said, "If you get caught, there’s no need to apologize or make excuses. Just use the embezzled money to hire an expensive lawyer to reduce your sentence, serve exactly two years in prison, and then get out. If that’s too hard, hire a YouTuber who can buy anything with money to socially bury the victim. If you do well, the other party might not be able to endure it and might leave this world. Then you get tens of billions and can live happily." He added, "If it’s family, secretly prepare the other party’s life insurance payout as well. That amount will be substantial too."

The older brother, who was indicted on charges of embezzling several billion won from broadcaster Park Soo-hong's personal funds and agency funds, is coming out after the first trial sentencing held on the afternoon of the 14th at the Seoul Western District Court.

Earlier, the 11th Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Court (Chief Judge Bae Seong-jung) sentenced Park’s older brother to two years in prison on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. The charges involved embezzling tens of billions of won from Park’s personal funds and company money while managing Park’s management from 2011 to 2021. The court recognized the older brother’s guilt in embezzling about 2 billion won of corporate funds under the pretext of employee salaries and gift certificate purchases by abusing the fact that it was a family company. However, the older brother’s wife, who was indicted as an accomplice, was found not guilty. The court did not detain the older brother, judging that there was little risk of flight or evidence tampering.

The court also acquitted the older brother of charges related to embezzling 1.6 billion won of Park’s personal funds, stating, "It appears he had broad discretion over managing property between siblings." However, Park is pursuing a civil lawsuit separately from this criminal procedure, which only considered embezzlement within the 10-year statute of limitations, claiming that the older brother and his wife embezzled 19.8 billion won.
