Anyone aged 9-24 can apply by March 10 (resident registration or currently enrolled students)
Youth contribute to fostering autonomy and enhancing self-efficacy through policy proposal activities
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Su-hee) is recruiting new members (a total of 30) for the 10th Gangdong-gu Youth Participation Committee until March 10 to foster youth autonomy and activate social participation activities.
Since its establishment in 2014, the Gangdong-gu Youth Participation Committee has consistently presented various opinions on youth policies and carried out campaigns and sharing activities to create a better local community.
In particular, last year, the committee received an excellence award at the Seoul Hope Assembly for proposing the "Expansion of Digital Mental Health Site Functions and Operation of Youth Peer Mentoring."
Additionally, the Youth Participation Committee has taken the lead in expanding opportunities for youth participation and forming a healthy youth culture by producing and distributing a youth facility map through the youth facility content contest, which is a selected project of the Gangdong-gu Youth Participatory Budget, and by operating booths and campaigns at youth festivals.
This year, the committee plans to complete the formation of the committee in March through earlier recruitment than the previous year and expanded promotion methods, and hold an inauguration ceremony in April to establish the participation committee more stably.
Moreover, in cooperation with local youth organizations, the committee will be composed to reflect the voices of youth in various environments, such as out-of-school youth, multicultural youth, and working youth.
Lee Su-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, "When youth directly present opinions on local policies and implement them, they can develop autonomy and increase self-efficacy. We will actively support various aspects so that many excellent policy proposals reflecting the voices of youth can emerge from this year's Youth Participation Committee."
The recruitment target is youth aged 9 to 24 who are registered residents of Gangdong-gu or attending schools located in the area. Any youth interested in youth policies and activities can apply. Those who wish to apply can download the application form from the district office website or the Cheonho Youth Culture House website, which is a commissioned operating facility, and submit it to the email below.
