Declaration of Joining the Liberty Unification Party Led by Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon
"I am more capable and conscientious than Lee Jae-myung"
Yoo Dong-gyu, former Planning Director of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation and considered a key figure in the 'Daejang-dong Development Project Special Favor Allegation' case, has declared his entry into the Liberty Unification Party led by Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church and announced his candidacy for the 4.10 general election in the constituency of Incheon Gyeyang-eul, currently represented by Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.
On the morning of the 14th, Yoo held a press conference at the Liberty Unification Party central headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, to announce his party entry and candidacy. He stated, "There is a politician who abused administrative power to acquire the land of the original residents in Bundang, under the sky, at a low price and sell it at a high price," adding, "I cannot stand to see Lee Jae-myung, who is now nothing but a shell, using the votes you gave him to make a bulletproof vest. That's why I came out."

He emphasized, "I am more capable and conscientious than Representative Lee," and said, "At least I admit the crimes I committed and have resolved to bear that burden for the rest of my life." Regarding his reason for joining the Liberty Unification Party, he said, "The crisis we face stems from the evil acts of the pro-North leftist forces represented by Lee Jae-myung," and added, "The last bastion to protect the Republic of Korea is the Liberty Unification Party."
Yoo is one of the central figures involved in the special favor allegations surrounding the Daejang-dong development project. Once considered a close aide to Representative Lee, he has continuously made disclosures unfavorable to Lee during the trial process, engaging in disputes.
Previously, when Kim Yong, former deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute, was convicted of receiving 600 million won in illegal political funds, Yoo and others who confessed to delivering the money were acquitted. However, Yoo is currently on trial, charged with gaining profits worth around 700 billion won by exchanging internal secrets related to the Daejang-dong development project with Seongnam City and others.
