Emergency Economic Ministers' Meeting Announces Preliminary Feasibility Study Exemption for Goheung National Industrial Complex
Goheung County (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 14th at the Emergency Economic Ministers' Meeting held at the Government Seoul Office that it will promote the exemption of the preliminary feasibility study for the Goheung Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok, announced the "Customized Support Plan for Advanced Industry Clusters," which focuses on rapidly establishing advanced industry clusters and concentrating support measures to respond to the intensifying global advanced industry competition.
For the 15 national advanced industrial complex candidate sites decided last year, the preliminary procedures for establishing industrial complex plans will be significantly shortened, and the preliminary feasibility study period will be reduced from 7 months to 4 months to support the rapid establishment of industrial complexes.
In particular, at this meeting, it was announced that the exemption of the preliminary feasibility study will be promoted for the Goheung Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex, which has sufficient corporate demand and significant economic ripple effects among the national industrial complex candidate sites.
In this regard, Gong Young-min, Governor of Goheung County, said, "The government's announcement to promote the exemption of the preliminary feasibility study for the Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex is a very timely decision," adding, "Since the development of the space launch vehicle industry is urgent, we will focus administrative efforts to ensure that the Goheung National Industrial Complex can definitely be exempted from the preliminary feasibility study."
A Goheung County official stated, "Securing corporate demand is key to exempting the preliminary feasibility study for the Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex," and added, "We will make every effort to attract companies, targeting launch vehicle anchor companies as well as materials, parts, and equipment companies."
Meanwhile, the Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex will be established on a scale of 520,000 pyeong in the area of Bongrae-myeon Naro Space Center, and the current project implementer, LH, is conducting a project feasibility study and basic plan establishment service.
