Last Year, a Total of 57 Households' Living Environments Improved
This Year, Support Planned for Housing Convenience for 50 Households
Ulsan City repaired the homes of 57 low-income disabled and elderly households last year.
On the 14th, Ulsan City announced that the "2023 Low-Income Disabled and Elderly Housing Convenience Support Project," aimed at improving the living environment and housing safety for the disabled and elderly, has been completed.
As a result of the project, a budget of 222 million KRW was invested to provide customized home repairs for a total of 57 households, including 32 disabled households and 25 elderly households.
By district, there were 13 households in Jung-gu, 9 in Nam-gu, 13 in Dong-gu, 12 in Buk-gu, and 10 in Ulju-gun.
The home repair projects were diverse. For living environment improvements, 41 cases were addressed, including bathroom repairs, door replacements, installation of sensor lights, wallpaper and flooring replacements.
Regarding barrier-free living environment improvements, 20 cases were improved, such as lowering door thresholds, installing ramps, safety handrails, sink modifications, and eliminating floor height differences.
Additionally, 21 cases related to housing safety improvements were completed, including the installation of fire and gas detectors and automatic gas shut-off valves.
Started in 2022, this project has a high satisfaction rate among households due to renovation work tailored to individual living and residential environments and types of disabilities.
Last year, Ulsan City conducted thorough on-site inspections based on the applicants' desired improvements in the living environment to design and implement changes that minimize inconvenience in daily life.
This year, from March to April, recruitment announcements for eligible households by district will be made, and support for home renovations and convenience facility installations will be provided to a total of 50 households.
The application period can be found on the district websites, and applications can be submitted to the district’s Senior and Disabled Affairs Department or the relevant eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers.
