Prices of Kalguksu, Naengmyeon, and Bibimbap Rise
Last Year's Dining Out Prices Increased by 6% Compared to Previous Year
As dining-out prices soar, the price of a bowl of Kalguksu in Seoul has exceeded 9,000 won for the first time.
According to the Korea Consumer Agency's price information portal 'Chamgagyeok' on the 13th, among eight representative dining-out menu items in Seoul, the prices of three items?Kalguksu, Naengmyeon, and Bibimbap?increased in January compared to December of last year.

The price of a bowl of Kalguksu has steadily risen since surpassing 8,000 won in March 2022. It remained at 8,962 won from August to December last year, then rose to 9,038 won in January. The price of a bowl of Naengmyeon also slightly increased from 11,308 won in December last year to 11,385 won. The price of a bowl of Bibimbap, which first crossed the 10,000 won mark in January last year, rose from 10,577 won in December to 10,654 won in January.
Meanwhile, the average prices of other menu items such as Gimbap (3,323 won), Jajangmyeon (7,069 won), Samgyeopsal (200g, 19,429 won), Samgyetang (16,846 won), and Kimchi Jjigae set meal (8,000 won) remained the same as last month.
According to Statistics Korea's consumer price trends, the dining-out price inflation rate last year rose by 6% compared to the previous year, marking the highest figure in 30 years.
