Applications Accepted Until the 23rd, Total Support for 355 Units
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) will implement the ‘Early Retirement Support Project for Old Diesel Vehicles’ starting from the 13th to fundamentally reduce air pollutants emitted from old diesel vehicles.
According to the county, the support targets are diesel vehicles with emission grades 4 and 5, road-use type 3 construction machinery manufactured before August 31, 2009, subject to earlier emission standards, and forklifts and excavators manufactured before 2004.

The support scale is a total of 355 units (350 diesel vehicles, 5 construction machines), with support amounts varying depending on vehicle type, model, and year. Vehicles under 3.5 tons can receive up to 3 million KRW, and grade 4 vehicles up to 8 million KRW. Additionally, if a new vehicle is purchased as a zero-emission vehicle (electric or hydrogen vehicle), an extra 500,000 KRW can be supported.
Applications are accepted from the 13th to the 23rd. During the intensive application period (February 13?14), on-site applications can be made at the first floor of Saenggakmaru in the Welfare Hall of Muan County Office. From the 15th to the 23rd, applications will be accepted at the Environment Division of Muan County Office. Postal applications and online applications (via the Automobile Emission Gas website) will also be accepted concurrently.
Unlike last year, diesel vehicles with emission grade 4 equipped with DPF at the time of release can also apply. Those subject to environmental improvement charges must fully pay the charges up to the day before vehicle deregistration to receive the subsidy.
Governor Kim San stated, “Since nearby Gwangju Metropolitan City is conducting constant crackdowns on grade 5 vehicles during the fine dust seasonal management period, we hope vehicle owners subject to crackdowns will actively apply. We ask for the active interest and participation of residents to create blue skies and a clean air environment.”
