Independent research firm IV Research forecasted on the 13th that Jaeyoung Solutek's high value-added product, the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) actuator, will show significant growth starting this year.

Jaeyoung Solutek began as a company specializing in plastic molds and has expanded its business into smartphone camera actuators, achieving growth. The company currently supplies AF and OIS actuators to major domestic smartphone manufacturers.

In a report released on the same day, IV Research's research center stated, "Jaeyoung Solutek is capable of producing VCM AF, encoder AF, and OIS actuators, and is gradually increasing its market share among clients, making it a company with high potential for performance growth regardless of the upstream market conditions. Although its performance was sluggish in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19, the proportion of OIS products has expanded since last year, and a full-scale performance rebound is expected starting this year."

They added, "From this year, the proportion of OIS sales within actuator sales is expected to rise to about 50%. Due to the high average selling price (ASP) of OIS products, overall corporate profitability is also expected to improve."

Furthermore, "The expansion of the OIS proportion began with adoption in flagship models in the fourth quarter of last year, and this year it will continue its growth trend as it is adopted in mid-to-low-end mass models. This year marks a period of significant increase in operating rates, so an operating leverage effect is anticipated," they explained.

They continued, "Preparations are underway for expansion into foldable smartphones and additional flagship models in the second half of this year. Although Jaeyoung Solutek is a latecomer in the OIS actuator market, it is a pure actuator company that has supplied domestic clients for 15 years, and this year is expected to be a year of performance growth driven by market share expansion."
