District Mayor Oh Eon-seok Discusses Overall Team Management with Athletes
Kim Hong-yeol (Hongten) and Kwon Seong-hee (Stary) to Compete in Paris Olympic Qualifiers
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) held a meeting with the Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team players on the 6th.
This meeting was organized to encourage the Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team players and to exchange various opinions regarding team management.
The meeting was attended by Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, Park Sang-yong, President of the Dobong-gu Sports Council, the Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team players, and related personnel.
On this day, Mayor Oh Eon-seok encouraged the players who achieved excellent results in various competitions last year and discussed overall team management for this year with the attendees.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, “I am very proud that the Breaking Team, which was established on September 1st last year as the first of its kind in Korea, achieved meaningful results such as winning a silver medal at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games. We will provide wholehearted support so that they can achieve good results in the Paris Olympic qualifiers held in May and June this year and the main event in August.”
In response, Lee Woo-sung, coach of the Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team, said, “We are grateful to Dobong-gu for their unwavering support and encouragement for the Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team,” and added, “We will work hard to achieve excellent results in the Paris Olympics and various competitions held this year to widely promote Dobong-gu.”
Meanwhile, the Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team, established on September 1st last year as Korea’s first breaking team, participated in the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games held in October last year, winning a silver medal. Shortly after, they proved themselves as the world’s best team by winning the ‘2023 Red Bull BC One World Final,’ the largest breaking competition in the world.
This year, Dobong-gu Office Breaking Team members Kim Hong-yeol and Kwon Seong-hee are scheduled to participate in the Paris Olympic qualifiers held in May and June. Both players are highly skilled and passionately dedicated to training, raising expectations for their advancement to the main event.
