Impatient Trump? "Taylor Swift, I Helped You Make Money..."

Trump Mentions Copyright Law Revision During Tenure
"Supporting Biden Is Betrayal"

Former U.S. President Donald Trump took a jab at Taylor Swift, who is called the president of the American entertainment industry, ahead of the 58th Super Bowl, the biggest sports event in the U.S., saying, "She must not forget who made her a lot of money."

On the 11th (local time), Trump posted on social media that during his term he signed the 'Music Modernization Act' for all musicians including Taylor Swift, claiming, "Joe Biden has done nothing for Taylor and will never be able to do anything."

He added, "She would never betray the man who made her a lot of money by supporting Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt president in our country's history."

He also said, "I like her boyfriend Travis, but he might be a progressive, and that would make me intolerable."

In fact, Trump signed the Music Modernization Act in 2018. This law revised copyright law to fit the digital music era, allowing songwriters and composers to receive royalties from streaming and other sources.

Recently, there has been much analysis in U.S. politics that Swift’s absolute influence on young people could significantly impact the presidential election.

Swift became the first artist to generate $1 billion (about 1.335 trillion KRW) in concert revenue alone, coining the term "swiftnomics." Especially for the 'Generation Z' (born mid-1990s to early 2000s), who grew up listening to her music, Swift's influence is absolute.

The New York Times (NYT) also reported that President Biden’s staff is reaching out again to Swift, who supported Biden in the 2020 election. On the other hand, the Trump camp is reportedly sending messages to Swift to "stay out of politics." They are even spreading conspiracy theories to block her influence.

One of these theories is that Swift plans to declare support for Biden during the Super Bowl, the most-watched sports event in America. The NYT introduced a conspiracy theory circulating among Trump’s fervent supporters, the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement.

The theory claims that Swift is actually a secret agent for the Department of Defense, encouraging young voters to vote for Biden in the November election. The public relationship between Swift and her football player boyfriend Travis Kelce, who is the same age, is also rumored to be a staged event for Biden’s re-election. They say it’s a fake couple. Many Trump supporters are accepting these claims as fact.

Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, are competing against the San Francisco 49ers for the NFL championship (Super Bowl).

Trump’s social media post came ahead of the Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and the San Francisco Forty-Niners held that day.

Trump said the reason Swift should support him is, "I like her boyfriend Travis," but "Travis might be a progressive and probably can’t stand me."
