Uljugun Haetteumi Ssireum Team Lee Gwangseok Wins Taebaek Division at Taean Seollal Jangsa Ssireum Tournament

Achieving 3rd Individual Championship Title After 6 Years

Lee Kwang-seok, a wrestler from the Ulsan Ulju-gun Office Haetteumi Ssireum Team, won the ‘Withus Pharmaceutical 2024 Taean Seollal Jangsa Ssireum Tournament’ Taebaek Jangsa (under 80kg) final held on the 9th at the Taean Comprehensive Indoor Gymnasium in Taean-gun, Chungnam, lifting his third Bull Trophy in his career.

In the round of 16 of this tournament, Lee Kwang-seok defeated Yoon Pil-jae (Uiseong-gun Office) 2-0, then continued his momentum by beating Kim Seong-yong (Yangpyeong-gun Office) 2-0 in the quarterfinals.

He advanced to the finals by overcoming Jeong Taek-hoon (MG Saemaeul Geumgo Ssireum Team), a favorite to win the Taebaek division, 2-1 in the semifinals.

In the final against Jang Young-jin (Yeongam-gun Folk Ssireum Team), Lee Kwang-seok took the first round by toppling his opponent with the Andari technique. In the second round, Jang Young-jin leveled the score by successfully executing the Left Ogeum Danggi technique.

In the third round, Lee Kwang-seok defended against Jang Young-jin’s Deulbaejigi technique and secured victory with the Andari technique, taking the lead. In the following fourth round, Jang Young-jin caught up to 2-2 by scoring with a push following the Deulbaejigi technique.

The match was decided in the final fifth round. Lee Kwang-seok succeeded with the Japchae technique against Jang Young-jin, winning 3-2 and claiming his third personal championship title after six years.
