National Ballet Company to Perform 'Swan Lake' Next Month at LG Signature Hall

The National Ballet Company announced on the 10th that it will perform the essence of classical ballet, "Swan Lake," as its first regular performance of 2024 from March 27 to 31 at the LG Arts Center Seoul and LG Signature Hall.

"Swan Lake" is the "National Ballet Company's representative classical repertoire," marking its 10th performance on the National Ballet Company's stage since its premiere in 2001. The National Ballet Company will perform the version choreographed by Yuri Grigorovich, the living choreographic master of the Russian Bolshoi Ballet.

The lead role of the delicate white swan "Odette" and the seductive black swan "Odile," a dual role played by one dancer, will be performed by principal dancer Park Seul-gi, soloist Jo Yeon-jae, and Shim Hyun-hee.

The National Ballet Company announced that Jo Yeon-jae was exceptionally promoted two ranks (from demi-soloist to soloist) in the company's internal promotion last month.

Jo Yeon-jae made her lead debut in the 2022 performance of Swan Lake.
