The landscape lighting project for Section 11-1 of Songdo International City in Incheon, where infrastructure construction is currently underway, will be actively promoted.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 8th that the landscape lighting project for the bridge area of the water retention basin waterfront space in Songdo Section 11-1 will commence next month.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority plans to invest 2.2 billion KRW in the project, initially ordering the installation for seven bridges in Phase 1, covering Zones 1-1 and 1-2, out of a total of 20 bridges in Songdo Section 11-1. For Phase 2, covering Zones 3 and 4, the remaining bridges will be ordered in accordance with the civil infrastructure construction schedule.

This landscape lighting installation project is inspired by areas known for their beautiful waterfront landscapes, such as Venice in Italy, Baltimore in the United States, and Nyhavn in Denmark. Songdo is expected to be reborn as a city with beautiful scenery through time- and season-based lighting displays.
Prior to this, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority completed a landscape review for the target bridges in November 2019.
An official from the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority stated, "We will develop Songdo into a city with stunning urban landscapes that attract many visitors," adding, "We will do our best to create a high-quality city reflecting people-centered values such as eco-friendliness and cultural diversity, in connection with the waterfront space development project of Section 11-1."
