This project involves building a disabled welfare facility with a total floor area of 4,240㎡ across four buildings of two stories above ground, with a total project cost of 17 billion KRW. The target completion date is April 2026.
The city previously held a design competition in September last year open to architectural firms nationwide, and after reviewing seven submissions received last month, the selection was made through a judging committee. The winning design by Kyungho Engineering was evaluated by the city as reflecting both the functionality and symbolism of the Icheon Southern Region Disabled Welfare Center.
Through the Southern Region Disabled Welfare Center, the city plans to provide specialized services for people with disabilities and operate various programs including agricultural therapy.
