2?28 Minju Movement Memorial, Over 1,500 Participants
Jeonnam Gurye-gun announced that the 3rd 2·28 Democracy Movement Memorial National Middle and High School Taekwondo Competition will be held for 9 days from the 15th to the 23rd at the Gurye-gun Indoor Gymnasium.
This competition, commemorating the ideology of the 2·28 democratization movement, the first student-centered movement in Korea, was hosted by the Korea Middle and High School Taekwondo Federation.
The sparring competition will continue from February 15 to 22, and the poomsae competition will take place on February 23.
At the opening ceremony on February 15, Korea’s top national taekwondo demonstration team is scheduled to perform.
This competition serves as a platform to discover the future leaders of Korean taekwondo, where about 1,500 promising young athletes will compete, showcasing the skills they have honed.
Kim Sun-ho, the county governor, said, “We will do our best to support so that Gurye-gun remains a city that athletes want to visit again in their hearts.”
