'Sold Out' in Ten Days... Japanese Street Fashion Collaborates with Champion

Global sports brand CHAMPION has launched a collaboration product with the Japanese street brand WTAPS, and all prepared products sold out within about 10 days of release.



According to CHAMPION on the 8th, the WTAPS collaboration products were sold in limited quantities only at the CHAMPION Lotte World Mall store. At the first opening event, about 20 to 30 people lined up, showing great popularity, and all the stock prepared was sold out within about 10 days of release.

WTAPS is a street brand established in 1996 in Tokyo, Japan, well known among fashion enthusiasts for its bold color combinations and unique designs. In particular, it is a brand loved for its modern reinterpretation of military uniforms and military looks. The collaboration collection presented by the two brands was introduced as a spring and summer season style that appropriately combines CHAMPION’s comfortable yet simple modern casual style with WTAPS’s unique elements.


The collection products were divided into five item categories. Representative items include T-shirts made from 'heavyweight US cotton,' a smooth and dry-feeling fabric, and sweatshirts (crewnecks) and hooded sweatshirts made from 'super fleece,' a material with a densely woven surface that provides elasticity. All items included WTAPS’s brand concept tagline and CHAMPION’s iconic 'C logo.'


A CHAMPION representative said, "On the first day of opening, a long queue formed in front of the store, showing great interest from customers who like CHAMPION and WTAPS, and we received feedback that the stylish yet comfortable fit was satisfying."


Meanwhile, LF signed an official import and distribution contract in 2019 for all global line products of CHAMPION in Asia (ASIA), the United States (US), and Europe (EU), and has been introducing the brand domestically through online and offline distribution channels since spring 2020.
