Gangbuk-gu 'Cadastral (Forest Map) Advancement and Maintenance Project' Promotion

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) has rolled up its sleeves to address issues arising from the digitization of cadastral (forest land) maps, first created during the Japanese colonial period in 1910, without maintenance in the early 2000s, by launching the "Cadastral-related Advanced Maintenance Project."

The Cadastral-related Advanced Maintenance Project involves ▲ correcting cadastral (forest land) maps through boundary error land surveys and measurements ▲ converting numerical regional coordinate systems registered in local coordinate systems to global geodetic systems ▲ discovering small-scale unregistered land for registration ▲ and maintaining continuous cadastral maps based on the maintained (converted) individual cadastral maps.

Through this project, the district plans to correct errors such as overlapping and separation of boundaries and shape overlaps on cadastral maps that occurred due to digitization without maintenance in the early 2000s, thereby enhancing the completeness of cadastral (forest land) maps and providing high-quality administrative services.

To this end, on the 6th, the district signed a "Cadastral-related Maintenance Project Consignment Agreement" with the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation Seoul Northern Branch and decided to proceed with the project using various methods such as cadastral surveying and data investigation.

The project period is until the end of this year. The district expects that upon completion of the cadastral-related maintenance project, it will shorten the surveying period for civil petitioners, ensure map accuracy, and resolve issues related to the exercise of property rights by residents.

Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "The cadastral-related maintenance project not only protects the property rights of residents but also supports various regional development projects. We will continue to do our best to provide reliable administrative services to residents and enhance the convenience of civil petitioners."
