Busan City Operates 'Fair Election Support Situation Room' for the 22nd National Assembly Election

On the 7th, at 9:30 a.m., Busan City held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the 'Fair Election Support Situation Room' on the 10th floor of City Hall.

The ceremony was organized to open the Fair Election Support Situation Room before the election day 60 days (February 10), when acts influencing the election of local government heads are prohibited, in order to conduct the upcoming election in the most fair and flawless manner in history.

The city’s election department responsible for election support tasks, the Audit Committee which carries out activities to establish and inspect public service discipline, and the Election Commission overseeing Busan’s elections attended the event.

The situation room will be operated continuously from that day until April 12, two days after the 22nd National Assembly election day (April 10, 2024), to support the election, comprehensively manage the progress of statutory election affairs by schedule, and promptly respond to various incidents and accidents.

Additionally, a cooperative system with related election agencies such as the Election Commission and the police will be established.

Kim Bong-cheol, Director of the Administrative Autonomy Bureau of Busan City, stated, “The Fair Election Support Situation Room was launched early to thoroughly prepare for the introduction of multiple vote counting procedures,” and emphasized, “Busan City will realize flawless election administration to perfectly respond to any situation.”
