January 29 to February 8, Held at 7 Traditional Markets
Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held a shopping event for the Lunar New Year from January 29 to February 8 at seven traditional markets, including Uljin Baji Market, to stabilize the local economy and revitalize traditional markets.
This event was organized to stimulate consumer sentiment, which has been weakened by the economic downturn, to breathe new life into traditional markets facing difficulties, and to ensure a joyful Lunar New Year through the revitalization of the local economy.
The event took place on traditional market days with the participation of public officials and employees from various institutions and organizations. To avoid crowding, participants were divided by government offices, departments, and sections to promote shopping in a way that would lead to a tangible increase in sales.
Additionally, a promotional campaign was conducted simultaneously to create a safe and trustworthy traditional market, focusing on price stabilization and origin labeling.
County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, “I hope this event to support traditional markets during these difficult times of rising prices will be of some help. I also ask all residents to actively use traditional markets so that they can be revitalized and the local economy can recover.”
