Food Promotion Fund Provides 150 Million Won Loan Support to Local Food Hygiene Businesses... For Facility Improvements Including Renovation of Business Facilities and Restrooms
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is providing a food promotion fund loan worth 150 million KRW to local food hygiene businesses.
This aims to alleviate the economic difficulties of food hygiene business operators by offering loans at low interest rates for the costs needed to improve hygiene facilities, and to raise the hygiene standards of establishments such as restaurants.
The loan funds can only be used for "facility improvement funds" intended to improve hygiene levels, such as renovating or repairing business premises and restrooms within the premises, or installing and maintaining machinery and equipment necessary for operations.
Eligible applicants are food manufacturing and processing businesses, general and casual restaurants, bakeries, and catering service operators located in Jungnang-gu. However, businesses focused on alcohol sales such as entertainment bars, nightclubs, and pubs are excluded.
The loan offers an annual interest rate of 1-2% depending on the type, with a maximum loan amount of up to 100 million KRW, covering up to 80% of the required amount.
Business operators wishing to apply for the loan must first visit the Woori Bank Jungnang-gu Office branch, the loan handling bank, with a contract for the facilities or equipment that need improvement to receive a loan consultation confirmation. Afterwards, applicants should prepare documents such as the application form, business plan, and business registration certificate and visit the Hygiene Division on the 3rd floor of Jungnang-gu Public Health Center. Applications are accepted year-round until the budget is exhausted. After applying, the loan will proceed following the loan handling bank’s review.
For detailed eligibility and required documents, please check the announcement on the Jungnang-gu Office website’s Jungnang News bulletin board.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi stated, “I hope the food promotion fund loan will help resolve the difficulties faced by food hygiene business owners,” and added, “We will continue to thoroughly inspect and guide local food hygiene businesses to ensure residents can safely enjoy their meals, and strive to improve hygiene standards.”
