Gokseong-gun Holds 'Seolnal Direct Market' in Seoul Gwanak-gu

Presenting Excellent Agricultural and Specialty Products like Baeksemi and Oksusu

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold a direct transaction market for the Lunar New Year from the 6th to the 7th in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

This event is hosted by Gokseong-gun and the Gokseong Alumni Association in Seoul, with participation from nine local farms showcasing representative agricultural and specialty products of Gokseong such as organic Baeksemi rice, corn, taro stems, and dried persimmons, as well as processed foods made directly from Gokseong agricultural products including soybean paste, cheonggukjang, and sesame oil.

The county plans to promote the excellence of clean Gokseong's agricultural and specialty products externally through this direct transaction market and aims to expand direct transactions between farmers and consumers in the future to increase farmers' income.

A county official said, “We are grateful to the ‘Gokseong-gun Seoul Alumni Association’ for their great help from preliminary consultations to on-site operations for a successful direct transaction market. We hope that Gokseong's agricultural and specialty products will be recognized externally and that this event will help local farmers generate more income.”
