HDC Hyundai Development Company conducted a regular safety inspection on the 5th at sites in Jamsil, Seoul, and Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.

Hyundai Development Company’s management visits the sites at the beginning of each month to carry out regular safety inspections. This month, CEOs Choi Ik-hoon and Kim Hoe-eon each conducted inspections.

CEO Choi visited the Jamsil Jinju Reconstruction site and emphasized the importance of preventive management. He stated, “Before starting work, a work plan must be established, and the three major preventive activities?labor-management risk assessment and daily safety meetings?must be thoroughly implemented. It is essential to confirm that all risk factors in hazardous tasks have been completely eliminated to ensure that no work proceeds under unsafe conditions.”

CEO Kim also visited the Gwangju Administrative Town I-Park site in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, stressing the need for active measures to prevent safety accidents. During the safety inspection, CEO Kim said, “For the establishment of a safety management culture, active participation from partner companies is necessary,” and conveyed that all employees of partner companies and all personnel on site must prioritize accident prevention above all else.

Hyundai Development Company, together with its partner companies, is conducting the three major preventive activities: establishing work plans for all processes, implementing risk assessments involving labor and management, and holding daily safety meetings. Additionally, to ensure that all safety procedures such as risk assessments, designation of inspection personnel, dissemination, and education can be conducted in one place, they support ‘ONE-STOP’ safety management. For non-resident partner companies, a ‘Risk Assessment ROOM’ has been established and is being operated to allow repeated familiarization with safety procedures.

In site management, Digital Transformation (DX) is being applied to enhance accident prevention and work efficiency. Notably, since June 2022, an integrated CCTV control center has been operated to eliminate blind spots in safety management. Intelligent video detection cameras that recognize only people and 360-degree Around View cameras have been installed and are in operation on construction equipment such as forklifts and excavators. Efforts are also underway to mandate the installation of intelligent video detection cameras on all major equipment and vehicles entering the site, such as dump trucks and ready-mix concrete trucks.
