Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will operate the "2024 Lunar New Year Comprehensive Measures" period for 7 days from the 7th to the 13th of this month. The focus is on five major areas: safety, sharing, transportation, living convenience, and prices, to ensure that residents can enjoy a safe and warm Lunar New Year holiday.
In the safety sector, special inspections will be conducted on disaster-vulnerable facilities such as maintenance projects and redevelopment/reconstruction zones, as well as safety checks on multi-use facilities. A snow removal task force will also be operated to prepare for cold waves.
In the sharing sector, consolation money and gifts will be delivered to about 13,000 low-income residents and 22 welfare facilities, and donation-sharing events will be held by neighborhoods and welfare facilities. Safety checks will be strengthened for elderly living alone and severely disabled individuals, and child meal support will be provided during the holiday period.
From the 9th to the 12th of this month, a traffic situation room will also be operated. In addition to special crackdowns on illegal parking, a total of 29 parking lots, including 20 elementary, middle, and high schools, 5 religious facilities, and 4 public parking lots within the district, will be opened free of charge to alleviate traffic inconvenience.
Measures for living convenience have also been prepared. From the 9th to the 12th, an emergency medical treatment situation room will be operated on the first floor of the Seongbuk-gu Health Center, providing information on open hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies. To ensure residents have a pleasant holiday, a cleaning situation room will be operated to receive cleaning complaints and check garbage collection status. Cleaning and patrols of multi-use areas and bus central lanes will be strengthened through a rapid response team.
Price stabilization measures for the Lunar New Year holiday have been in operation since the 17th of last month. Through the comprehensive price countermeasure situation room, supply and price trends of essential goods are monitored, unfair practices are cracked down on, and a thorough inspection of price tag compliance is conducted.
Measures to revitalize the local economy are also underway, including special events at traditional markets for the Lunar New Year and support for registering Onnuri gift certificate加盟店 at seven alley-type shopping districts. On the 30th of last month, 4 billion KRW worth of Seongbuk Love Gift Certificates were issued, and 3 billion KRW for construction payments and labor costs are being promptly executed to stabilize the livelihood economy.
Additionally, a comprehensive situation room will be operated during the Lunar New Year holiday to respond immediately to disasters and various incidents and accidents.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, "We have established a 24-hour response system for the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday to do our best so that all residents can have a prosperous and safe holiday."
