Shinsegae Group Granddaughter Moon Mo, 'Click' at Teddy's Established Agency

Moon, the granddaughter of the Shinsegae Group chairman, is attracting attention amid speculation that she may debut as a member of a new girl group under The Black Label, a company founded by famous producer Teddy.

Recently, photos of Moon, the eldest daughter of Jung Yoo-kyung, the head of Shinsegae who manages Shinsegae Department Store and the granddaughter of the Shinsegae chairman, posing with other trainees from The Black Label were revealed on online communities and social media platforms, sparking public interest. The photos show Moon and other trainees striking various poses in what appears to be the agency’s practice room.

Moon, born in 2002, is currently attending Columbia University in the United States. She boasts over 70,000 Instagram followers, rivaling the popularity of celebrities. While there have been cases where children of famous singers, such as Si-eun from the girl group StayC and Bell from Kiss of Life, debuted as idols, it is the first time that a child from a chaebol family has undergone trainee life and is poised to debut in a girl group, raising expectations about whether Moon will successfully debut. Questions about her debut have also been appearing on her Instagram posts recently. However, Moon has not made any official statements regarding this matter.

Meanwhile, The Black Label is an entertainment agency led by producer Teddy, formerly of the group 1TYM. The agency currently represents artists such as Zion.T, Jeon So-mi, Taeyang, and actor Park Bo-gum. Teddy has been recognized for his abilities as a head of an agency, having produced Big Bang and BLACKPINK from their debut stages.
