Yujin Group Conducts Survey of 1,043 Employees
35.5% Plan to Depart on Friday the 9th for Return Trip
The average estimated expense for this year's Lunar New Year among office workers was approximately 850,000 KRW.
Yujin Group announced the results of a survey on the '2024 Lunar New Year Holiday Plans' conducted on the 5th, targeting 1,043 employees from its affiliates including Yujin Enterprise, Yujin Investment & Securities, Dongyang, Yujin Home Center, Yujin Logistics, and Yujin Hanil Hapseom.
According to the survey, the average expected expense for this year's Lunar New Year holiday was 846,000 KRW. This amount represents an increase of about 6.7% compared to last year's survey result of 793,000 KRW.
The average expected expenses by generation were 488,000 KRW for those in their 20s, 755,000 KRW for those in their 30s, 978,000 KRW for those in their 40s, and 984,000 KRW for those aged 50 and above. The expected spending for the 30s and 40s age groups increased by 7.7% and 5.8% respectively from last year's 701,000 KRW and 924,000 KRW, contributing to the overall average increase.
The most burdensome expense item during the holiday was 'Parents' Allowance' (41.0%), followed by 'Holiday Gifts' (22.3%), 'New Year's Money' (10.7%), 'Dining Out Costs' (8.1%), and 'Transportation Costs' (4.5%).
Regarding travel schedules for returning home, the largest number of respondents (35.5%) said they would depart on Friday the 9th. The 10th accounted for 15.9%, the 8th for 15.8%, and the 11th for 3.3%. For returning from home, Sunday the 11th had the highest proportion (32.2%), followed by the 10th (17.7%), the 12th (17.5%), the 9th (4.7%), and the 13th (4.7%).
