Since Mun Heon-il's Inauguration as Guro-gu Mayor, the District Became the First Autonomous District to Receive a Grade 1 in the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's Integrity Survey for Two Consecutive Years, Attributed to Mayor Mun's Warm Heart for Valuing Employees

Guro-gu Expands Employee Welfare for a "Workplace You Want to Attend, Happy Family" Eulcheon-il, the head of Guro District Office, organized an event to celebrate employees who had birthdays this year.

Since Moon Heon-il, the mayor of Guro District, took office in the 8th term of the elected mayor, the reason he received the highest grade in integrity for two consecutive years in the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's survey was due to his consideration for the employees.

Guro District (Mayor Moon Heon-il) has taken steps to expand employee welfare to create a "workplace you want to go to, and a happy family."

First, the district established a special birthday leave this year. One day off is granted in the month of the employee's birthday according to their resident registration, allowing them to take the day off on any date they wish within that month.

For those aged 20 and over eligible for general health checkups, the district continues to support comprehensive health checkup costs every other year as before, and starting this year, additionally supports basic tests and tumor marker tests for non-eligible employees with cancer-specialized health checkup costs up to 60,000 KRW.

The additional support for health checkups was promoted based on the proposal of Mayor Moon Heon-il, who is concerned about the health of the employees.

Also, the district subscribed to the "Comprehensive Administrative Liability Insurance" that covers litigation costs and compensation amounts inevitably incurred in administrative work, allowing employees to perform their duties with peace of mind. In case of civil or criminal lawsuits or investigations during official duties, litigation costs and compensation are covered up to 30 million KRW per civil/criminal incident and up to 500 million KRW annually.

Childbirth support has been expanded to participate in the national effort to overcome low birth rates. Customized welfare points, which previously provided 100,000 KRW per child regardless of birth order, have been expanded to 300,000 KRW for the first child, 500,000 KRW for the second, and 1,000,000 KRW for the third. Additionally, infertility diagnosis costs of 1,000,000 KRW and childbirth expenses of 300,000 KRW have been added to the coverage items of the employee group insurance to promote more active childbirth support.

Other representative welfare projects of the district include year-round operation of recreational facilities, operation of Guro Welfare Center (cafeteria and Cafe 95), support for flu vaccinations, birthday celebration encouragement, congratulations on marriage and elementary school entrance, and operation of Family Love Day.

Among these, the monthly birthday celebration event for employees is attended by Mayor Moon, who personally sings birthday songs, making it a time for informal communication.

Mayor Moon Heon-il of Guro District said, "We operate various welfare systems with the belief that employees must be happy for residents to be happy and for the district to grow," adding, "We will continue to strive to contribute to creating a 'workplace you want to go to, and a happy family.'"
