This year, 7,000 Chinese youth school trip groups will visit Incheon. On the 4th, Incheon City announced that 7,000 Chinese elementary and middle school students will visit Incheon in four separate trips this year.
This is a follow-up result of the familiarization tour held last September, when school principals from the Huadong region of China were invited to Incheon, and it is the largest school trip group to visit Incheon since group travel resumed in China in August last year.
The school trip groups will enter the country twice, in the first and second halves of the year. First, 2,000 students who began arriving on the 26th of last month are expected to arrive sequentially until the 6th, and 5,000 students will enter the country in July.
These school trip groups will enter through Incheon Port for a 4-night, 5-day itinerary, visiting Chinatown, Donghwa Village, Sinpo Market, and the Songdo area. Among the students who have already arrived, 1,100 participated in the '2024 Korea-China Youth Exchange Event' held in Incheon on the 29th of last month and the 1st of this month.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We attracted Chinese youth school trip groups in cooperation with the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, Incheon Tourism Organization, Korea Tourism Organization, and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization," adding, "We hope that youth exchange events, which account for a significant portion of planned overseas tourist attractions, will recover through this opportunity."
