At the Yeongyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center in Gyeongbuk, an additional chili pepper training and GAP certification education were conducted on February 1 at the Yeongyang-gun Culture and Sports Center for local farmers.
On the 1st, Yeongyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center conducted 'Additional Chili Pepper Training and GAP Certification Training' at the Yeongyang-gun Culture and Sports Center.
This GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) education covered essential topics that farmers must know, including GAP certification standards and procedures, practical guidelines, and the Positive List System (PLS) for pesticide residue standards. The training was held additionally for farmers who missed the chili pepper course in the 2024 New Year practical agricultural education program.
The GAP certification system refers to blocking hazards in the production, post-harvest management, and distribution processes that producers must follow to supply safe and hygienic agricultural and livestock products to consumers. It is a system that allows verification of agricultural product history by entering the certification number through production traceability.
Farmers must complete the education to receive certification.
Jo Yong-wan, director of the Yeongyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, stated, “Through GAP certification education, we ask for your cooperation to enhance the quality competitiveness of Yeongyang-gun’s agricultural products and supply high-quality, safe agricultural products to consumers. We hope that the additional chili pepper training will increase the income of more farmers.”
