Rescued After Breaking Claw Machine Glass

A three-year-old boy got stuck inside a claw machine in Australia and was unable to get out. Local police eventually broke the front glass of the machine to safely rescue the child.

On the 1st, foreign media including the New York Post reported that on the 27th of last month, three-year-old Aiden was trapped inside a claw machine at a shopping center in Capalaba, Brisbane, Australia, prompting Brisbane police officers to respond. It is known that Aiden crawled into the machine when his parents were not watching.

The police who arrived at the scene tapped on the window of the claw machine to check whether the material was glass or transparent acrylic resin. After confirming it was glass, the officer asked Aiden’s father, "Can you get Aiden to move to the back corner?" before breaking the glass. This was a measure to ensure Aiden’s safety. At that time, Aiden was smiling as if playing in a ball pit.

Aiden’s father pointed to the back corner and said, "Go to the back," but Aiden did not move. Then Aiden’s mother went to the back of the machine, and when his father said, "Go to mom," Aiden finally moved to the back corner. Aiden followed the police’s instructions by covering his eyes before the glass was broken.

Soon after, the police broke the glass, and shards fell around the claw machine. The police then successfully rescued the child safely.

Upon hearing the news, overseas netizens showed various reactions. Some commented, "I hope the child takes the toys one by one," and "He just really wanted to play with the dolls." However, some criticized why there was no key to open the claw machine. There were also comments blaming the parents’ negligence. One netizen said, "This happened because Aiden’s parents did not properly watch their child."
