Guro-gu United with Seoul City through 'Donghaeng'

On the 1st, the '2024 Guro-gu Budget Briefing with Seoul City' was held at the district office 5th floor auditorium

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that the "2024 Budget Briefing Session in Partnership with Seoul City" was held on the afternoon of the 1st at the 5th-floor auditorium of the district office.

At the event, more than 400 residents, including Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Guro-gu Mayor Moon Heon-il, attended to receive explanations about this year's Seoul city budget and to be introduced to projects jointly promoted by the city and the district.

In his welcoming remarks, Mayor Moon said, "With Garibong-dong 115 area confirmed as a target site for Seoul City's Rapid Integrated Planning, a foundation has been laid for Garibong-dong to be transformed into a cutting-edge residential complex close to G-Valley workplaces," adding, "I thank Seoul City for deciding to allow redevelopment projects in the Garibong-dong area for the first time in 10 years."

He emphasized, "The Seoul City slogan 'Together, a Special City of Charm' and Guro-gu's slogan 'Warm Togetherness, Changing Guro' share the same spirit," and added, "I hope this budget briefing session will be a meaningful time to build consensus among residents on Seoul City's major projects."

Before the main explanation, a video titled "Turn on the Mic, Thank You Mayor!" was screened, in which Guro-gu residents expressed their gratitude to Seoul City for promoting projects such as dental treatment for the disabled, lifting the restriction on the Oryu High-tech District, and environmental improvement of Dorimcheon Stream.

On this day, Mayor Oh gave a detailed explanation for about 40 minutes covering the 2024 Seoul city budget status, Seoul walking with the vulnerable, enhancing Seoul's charm, and the special city of charm created together with Guro-gu.

After the explanation, a video titled "Turn on the Mic, Mayor, Please!" was screened, followed by a session where Mayor Oh responded to residents' opinions on installing escalators at Daerim Station and Onsu Station exits, developing Onsu Industrial Complex, and expanding the Cheonwangsan Family Camping Site.

Guro-gu Mayor Moon Heon-il said, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that various projects promoted together with Seoul City, such as Rapid Integrated Planning and Moa Town, proceed smoothly."
