Mongtan-myeon Nosongjeong Village Wins Excellence Award, Secures 500 Million KRW Project Fund
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 1st that on the 30th of last month, it held the “10th Happy Muan Training Village Creation and Autonomous Development Village Creation Village Development Plan Presentation” at Seungdal Culture and Arts Center, attended by over 300 people including leaders and residents from 9 villages.
At the presentation, participating village residents enthusiastically competed with various cheer performances, and the judging panel, led by Chief Judge Professor Choi Soo-myung, said, “We were very surprised by the intense enthusiasm of the presentation and the high quality of the project content.”

In Part 1, the results of the Training Village Creation selection showed that Baekdong Village in Cheonjang 3-ri, Haese-myeon, presented a village vision under the theme “The Most Prosperous and Happy Village Nationwide,” winning the grand prize and securing 30 million KRW in project funds.
Additionally, Nosongjeong Village in Mongtan-myeon and Hujeong Village in Samhyang-eup each received excellence awards with 20 million KRW, while Dosan Village in Mongtan-myeon and Deoksan Village in Illo-eup received encouragement awards, each securing 15 million KRW.
The project funds will be used for village-related projects such as flower path maintenance and vacant lot cleanup through resident meetings by December. The grand prize and excellent villages will be granted the qualification to promote a 5 billion KRW scale autonomous development village creation project starting in 2025.
For Part 2, targeting villages that completed the Training Village Creation project last year, the autonomous development village creation selection results named three villages: Sangjakchon Village in Cheonggye-myeon, Songsan Village in Samhyang-eup, and Dangwolchon Village in Illo-eup. They plan to lay the foundation for the autonomous development village creation project starting this year.
Governor Kim San stated, “Through resident-led village creation projects, we will learn how to live together with neighbors, strengthen community capabilities, and develop villages. We will spare no support to create a happy Muan for all.”
