HiSonic Receives IRCF PO from Vietnam's InnoWave... "Continuing Order Streak This Year"

As HiSonic secures a large-scale IRCF order, a green light has been turned on for performance growth this year.

HiSonic announced on the 1st that it received a long-term PO (Purchase Order) for IRCF (Infrared Cut Filter) for smartphone camera modules from InnoWave Vietnam. The specific amount and quantity were not disclosed in accordance with relevant institutional guidelines.

This order is the first achievement marking the practical commercialization stage of the IRCF business, and additional order expansion is expected with the launch of new smartphone models this year.

As part of its business restructuring, HiSonic completed the full in-house production process of IRCF by acquiring the Suzhou factory in China last year. The Suzhou factory in China, responsible for the pre-process of IRCF, will operate even during the Lunar New Year period to meet this year’s order volume. Current customers through InnoWave Vietnam include MCNEX, Cammsys, and Powerlogics, with Samsung Electronics as the final customer.

IRCF is an essential component installed in all cameras, including smartphones, automobiles, and security, enabling natural colors similar to what the human eye sees in digital imaging devices. It blocks noise regions such as near-infrared (700~1200nm) while allowing visible light (400~700nm) necessary for image rendering.

With the increase in camera modules applied to smartphones and the trend toward higher specifications, equipping high-sensitivity filters that block the infrared region in advance is essential. Already, over 90% of smartphones from domestic global smartphone companies apply IRCF. IRCF is also expected to be installed in premium smartphone models such as Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, scheduled for release in the second half of this year.

Furthermore, HiSonic plans to diversify its IRCF portfolio into high value-added products such as security cameras and automotive cameras, steadily expanding orders.

A company official explained, “As new smartphone launches are lined up this year, expansion of IRCF orders is anticipated,” adding, “We are enhancing the order response capability of the Suzhou factory and actively conducting sales activities, so meaningful performance growth is expected.”

He added, “We will expand the highly profitable IRCF business by extending into areas such as security and automobiles beyond smartphones, and will lay the foundation for a leap forward this year by fully launching the secondary battery new business.”
