Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Attends 'AD Can Meeting'

Jin Ok-dong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, stated, "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data are the core competencies that will lead the group's future, and the role of employees is very important." He added, "Each of you should move beyond just technology and lead innovations that customers and employees can truly experience as 'business designers.'"

According to Shinhan Financial Group on the 1st, Chairman Jin made these remarks on the afternoon of the 31st at the group's headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, during the 'AD (AI-Data) Can Meeting' held to discuss the group's digital transformation.

This event was organized for Chairman Jin to share current issues and overseas financial trends related to digital transformation and to discuss strategic directions with the CEOs of group companies and AI and data practitioners from the bank and card divisions.

During the discussion, based on a survey on AI and data conducted among group employees, a heated debate took place regarding issues and improvements in practical work processes. Attendees agreed that to accelerate digital-based business initiatives, the creation of a development environment and sharing of capabilities must be supported, which should ultimately lead to enhancing the actual convenience for customers.

A Shinhan Financial Group official stated, "Going forward, we plan to hold regular sessions every quarter in various formats for sharing current issues and communication between management and practitioners to accelerate the group's digital innovation, similar to this AD Can Meeting."
