Up to 30% Refund on Seafood Purchases at 7 Markets Including Suwon Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market

Gyeonggi Province is conducting an Onnuri gift certificate refund event at seven markets in the province, including the Suwon Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market, ahead of the Lunar New Year. This event is part of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' seafood coexistence discount support project aimed at stabilizing seafood prices and promoting the consumption of domestically produced seafood.

During the event period, if the purchase amount of seafood is 34,000 KRW or more, up to 30% (with a limit of 20,000 KRW per person) will be refunded on-site in Onnuri gift certificates.

The refund tiers are 10,000 KRW for purchases between 34,000 KRW and less than 68,000 KRW, and 20,000 KRW for purchases of 68,000 KRW or more.

The participating markets in the province are ▲ Suwon Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market ▲ Hwaseo Market in Suwon ▲ Sagang Market in Hwaseong ▲ Hanam Traditional Seafood Market in Hanam ▲ Wondang Market in Goyang ▲ Jayu Market in Bucheon ▲ Guri Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market.

The event runs from the 2nd to the 8th, with refund operation hours from 9:30 AM to 5:50 PM.

Eligible items for refund are domestically produced seafood, including processed foods made from domestic raw materials such as salted seafood. However, items discounted through the Seafood Expo Zero Pay online gift certificates, government stockpiled seafood releases, general restaurants, and imported seafood are excluded.

Also, refunds cannot be received unless the purchaser's mobile phone number and sales amount are entered at the seafood purchase store, so it is necessary to confirm whether the store is participating in the refund event.

Kim Bong-hyun, Director of the Marine and Fisheries Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Due to recent high inflation and reduced seafood catches caused by abnormal weather, seafood prices are expected to rise. We hope this refund event will lead to price stabilization and revitalization of seafood consumption."
