Peugeot will launch vehicles equipped with ChatGPT starting from the second half of this year. This year, it will release two pure electric vehicles, the E-408 and E-5008 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), expanding its electric vehicle lineup to 12 models.
Peugeot announced this plan on the 30th (local time) during the online 'E-Lion Day 2024' event. Peugeot's E-Lion project is the brand's comprehensive electrification strategy.
Peugeot aims to become a leading mobility brand in the European electric vehicle market by 2025. First, it will expand its pure electric vehicle lineup by adding the E-408 and E-5008 SUVs this year. This will increase Peugeot's electric vehicle lineup to a total of 12 models, including 9 passenger cars and 3 light commercial vehicles.
On this day, Peugeot also announced plans to adopt ChatGPT technology. The ChatGPT technology will be embedded in the 'i-Cockpit®' of all Peugeot passenger and commercial vehicle lineups. Connected with the 'OK Peugeot Voice Assistant,' the vehicle will be able to respond to the driver's questions and requests. Peugeot plans to pilot vehicles equipped with ChatGPT technology in five markets and then expand the launch from the second half of this year.
Peugeot also unveiled the E-3008 SUV, which can travel up to 700 km on a single charge (based on Stellantis internal evaluation), setting a new standard in its segment. The E-208 offers a maximum urban driving range of 566 km based on the European Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), reducing charging concerns.
Peugeot provides the most extensive warranty benefits among European car brands. For customers of the new E-3008 SUV, which was unveiled globally last year, Peugeot has established the 'Peugeot Allure Care' program, supporting electric motors, chargers, powertrains, and major electric and mechanical components for up to 8 years or 160,000 km.
Linda Jackson, CEO of Peugeot, said, "The E-Lion project is a commitment by Peugeot to enhance customer accessibility to sustainable mobility by mobilizing all technical expertise and creativity. Peugeot plans to continue pioneering as a leading company in the European electric vehicle market."
