Department of Health Administration at Dong-Eui Science University Receives 5-Year Accreditation for Health Medical Information Management Education

Busan and Ulsan Region's First Junior College to Secure 5-Year Accreditation

The Department of Health Administration at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) has secured a 5-year certification in the mid-term evaluation of the '2023 1st Cycle Health and Medical Information Management Education Evaluation and Certification' conducted by the Korea Health and Medical Information Management Education Evaluation Institute.

The Health and Medical Information Management Education Evaluation and Certification system assesses whether university education programs are adequately equipped to meet the talent standards for health and medical information managers. Notably, only graduates from universities that have received this certification are eligible to take the national exam for health and medical information managers (medical record administrators).

Following the 2021 evaluation, the Department of Health Administration again received excellent results in all five areas (program operation system, program composition and operation, students, faculty, and educational environment) in this evaluation. As a result, it became the first specialized college in the Busan and Ulsan regions to receive a 5-year certification, allowing the university's incoming students to maintain eligibility to take the national exam for health and medical information managers until 2027.

Choi Yeon-hee, head of the Department of Health Administration, stated, “This result once again recognizes our department as a specialized educational institution for nurturing future health administration professionals,” adding, “Together with the faculty, we will do our best to play a leading role in cultivating talented health and medical information managers and health administration experts through high-quality education for our students.”
