Signboard Improvement Project Support Fund Increased from 1 Million Won to 1.3 Million Won... From February 1 Until Budget Runs Out... Apply Quietly by Email to District Office Street Landscape Department... If Approved, Apply for Subsidy After Signboard Installation

Guro-gu Increases Support Fund for Voluntary Signboard Improvement Project by 1.3 Million Won

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) will increase the support amount for the voluntary signboard improvement project from 1 million KRW to 1.3 million KRW starting in 2024.

The voluntary signboard improvement project is designed to alleviate the financial burden on small-scale self-employed business owners and contribute to creating a pleasant street environment by supporting part of the cost of signboard replacement.

The project supports self-employed business owners within the district whose business area is less than 133㎡, who install new signboards after November 1, 2023, due to opening a new business, changing business type, or relocating, or who replace illegal or old signboards with LED signboards while operating.

The support amount, which was up to 1 million KRW per business for one wall-mounted signboard, has been increased to 1.3 million KRW starting this year. Any excess cost must be borne by the business owner.

The application process begins on February 1. Business owners must prepare the application form and related documents and submit them by visiting the district office’s Street Landscape Division or via email. After submission, if the target signboard complies with outdoor advertising laws and installation guidelines through an outdoor advertising review, the signboard can be installed and the subsidy applied for. Support will not be provided if the signboard is installed before the review.

The project will end early if the budget is exhausted. For more details, contact the district office’s Street Landscape Division or check the official website.

A Guro-gu official stated, “Last year, a total of 122 businesses benefited, creating a cleaner environment,” and added, “We hope this signboard maintenance will help improve the city’s aesthetics.”
