Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it will expand the “Customized Admission Information Sessions by Period,” which proactively provides study management tips and admission strategy roadmaps for each stage of school progression to help establish career guidance directions, to 20 sessions annually.
Previously, to meet the high demand for education, the district significantly increased the number of “Customized Admission Information Sessions by Period” from once a year to 10 times last year, providing career and admission information to over 5,600 parents and students.
Encouraged by the enthusiastic response, the district plans to double the number of admission information sessions this year to a total of 20. The first session will be held on February 26 at Haenuri Hall in Haenuri Town, targeting 600 parents of elementary, middle, and high school students with the theme “Admission Information Session for the New Semester.”
The new semester session will be divided into two groups: parents of elementary and middle school students (10 a.m.) and parents of high school students (2 p.m.). First, Lee Chi-woo, Director of Admissions Evaluation at Visang Education, will share study strategies to prepare for the “Changing Curriculum” applied to students below the third grade of middle school, including ▲the 2028 college entrance system reform and ▲the 2022 revised curriculum, with 300 parents of elementary and middle school students.
Following this, instructor Kim Hyung-joo, who has served as an admissions officer at Korea University and as a university admissions support officer at Jeju Office of Education, will provide 300 parents of high school students with targeted information on admission preparation under the theme “Roadmap to Successful College Admission for the New Semester,” covering internal grade management methods and strategies for selecting college entrance screening types.
Those wishing to attend the sessions can apply online on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 a.m. on February 5 through the district office’s integrated reservation portal on its website. Pre-registrants will receive a “Key Materials Booklet” containing the main contents of the new semester information session.
Additionally, the district plans to significantly expand special lectures by topic in the second half of the year, including ▲the “Y Education Expo” admission information sessions by type in May, ▲the “College Admission Early Screening Success Strategy Session” in July, and ▲the “College Admission Regular Screening Success Strategy Session” in November, as well as sessions on “Self-Directed Learning Methods” after the completion of the Education Support Center. Furthermore, a “1:1 Customized Admission Consulting” service will be operated, where education experts provide one-stop admission, career, and guidance information tailored to students’ tendencies.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We are doubling the number of admission information sessions to provide customized admission information to parents who are concerned about the reformed admission system and curriculum. We hope for great interest and participation in this first lecture of the new semester session, and we will continue to do our best to operate solid out-of-school support programs so that Yangcheon, an education-specialized district, can support our children’s precious dreams.”
