Pukyong National University Hosts 'Promising Technology Presentation' for Faculty Startup Investment Attraction

The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Pukyong National University (Director Oh Jeong-hwan) held a promising technology briefing session, "2024 PKNU IR PITCHING DAY," on the afternoon of the 29th at the Forest Hall on the 3rd floor of Drium in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

This event was organized to provide networking and consulting opportunities between startup faculty members who possess promising technologies and wish to attract investment, and investors.


As part of Pukyong National University's project for "Discovering Promising Technologies and Establishing Commercialization Strategies," the event was co-hosted by Darae Strategic Commercialization Center, a technology commercialization specialized accelerator. About 50 participants, including PKNU faculty members, researchers, investors, and company representatives, attended the event.


At the event, five researchers presented promising commercialization technologies, including Professor Lee Sang-gil (Department of Food and Nutrition) with "A Composition for Preventing Sarcopenia Using Extracts of Wakame Seaweed," Professor Lee Tae-yoon (Department of Environmental Engineering) with "Hydrogen Production Technology Using Photocatalysts," Professor Lee Han-rim (Department of Spatial Information Systems Engineering) with "Remote Measurement Technology for Greenhouse Gases and Air Pollutants," Professor Choi Tae-jin (Department of Microbiology) with "Recombinant Protein Production Using Transformed Chlorella," and Professor Han Young-seon (Department of Computer and Artificial Intelligence Engineering) with "Managed Service Provider (MSP) for Quantum Computing."


Following the presentations, a voluntary networking session related to startups was held among participants, along with one-on-one meeting sessions between researchers and investors from five venture capital (VC) firms to provide opportunities for investment attraction.


Pukyong National University actively discovers promising technologies held by faculty and researchers and implements various support projects to foster a startup-friendly environment and promote technology commercialization.
