Yoon Invites Korea to Presidential Office for 2 Hours 37 Minutes Lunch and Talk
Discusses Key Public Issues Including Housing and Railroads
President Yoon Suk-yeol emphasized party-government cooperation to Han Dong-hoon, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, on the 29th, stating that "the party and government must make doubled efforts to improve the livelihood that the people can feel."
President Yoon invited Chairman Han and Floor Leader Yoon Jae-ok to the Yongsan Presidential Office in the afternoon and had lunch together for over two hours, Lee Do-woon, the Chief of Public Relations, revealed in a written briefing.
Lee Kwan-seop, Chief of Staff to the President, Han Oh-seop, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, and Lee Do-woon, Chief of Public Relations, also attended the lunch.
This was the first time President Yoon invited Chairman Han to the Yongsan Presidential Office for lunch since Han accepted the Emergency Response Committee Chairmanship on December 26 last year.
After having lunch together for two hours at the dining venue, President Yoon and Chairman Han moved to the office and had a further 37-minute informal talk.
President Yoon, Chairman Han, and Floor Leader Yoon engaged in in-depth discussions on various livelihood issues, including housing, railroad undergrounding, and transportation. Housing and railroads are key government policy matters that President Yoon has even held public forums to discuss.
They also expressed concerns about the recent series of attacks on politicians. In response, President Yoon explained that he instructed the relevant ministries to promptly prepare countermeasures.
Regarding the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, they agreed to continue negotiations in the National Assembly to ensure that small business owners do not face difficulties.
