Gwangjin-gu Conducts Complete Survey of 27,497 Building Number Plates and More

Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will conduct a full survey of 27,497 address information facilities to enhance the convenience of using road name addresses. Old and damaged address information facilities make it difficult to verify accurate information and pose a risk of safety accidents, requiring meticulous management.

The district will carry out a comprehensive inspection from this month until July this year. All address information facilities in the area are subject to inspection, including 23,396 building number plates, 3,588 road name plates, and 513 object address plates.

The main inspection items include checking for damage and loss of facilities, examining contamination, discoloration, and cracks. Directional errors will be identified and corrected to ensure residents have no inconvenience in finding their way.

After the survey, maintenance work will be conducted in the second half of the year. Facilities that are severely aged or damaged will be promptly replaced, and new road name plates will be installed where deemed necessary. Minor issues such as location adjustments and tree branch trimming will be addressed immediately.

This inspection will utilize the “National Address Information System (Smart KAIS).” By inputting and transmitting current photos and information via mobile devices, the system links with the address information management system to provide accurate details. This enhances the reliability of the survey and reduces manpower and time.
