The plaque awarding ceremony held on the 29th at the headquarters building of Chosun University of Science and Technology was attended by about 10 people, including Cho Soon-gye, president of Chosun University of Science and Technology, university officials, Yoon Mong-hyun, CEO of Gwangju Global Motors, and company officials.

Yoon Mong-hyun, CEO of Gwangju Global Motors, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Ahead of the start of electric vehicle production in July this year, during the factory facility maintenance period in the second half of last year, Chosun University of Science and Technology provided a customized electric vehicle education program for executives and employees, which was a great help." In response, Cho Soon-gye, president of Chosun University of Science and Technology, said, "I am honored to receive this plaque of appreciation for contributing to strengthening the capabilities of Gwangju Global Motors' executives and employees," and added, "Our university will continue to actively nurture local specialized technicians in the mobility sector, a strategic industry of Gwangju City, based on the strengths of a specialized college that has flexibly responded to social changes."

The Gwangju Byeolnuri DX-Academy Project Group of Chosun University of Science and Technology operated the 'DX Professional Workforce Training Course (Mobility Electronic Components On-site Quality and Prevention)' for Gwangju Global Motors employees in November last year.

This course consisted of education on understanding electric vehicle parts and safety training on high voltage in electric vehicles, focusing on the automotive industry parts sector. It was conducted over a week at the Gwangju Global Motors training center and the Gwangju Industry-Academia Convergence Center, with more than 200 executives and employees of Gwangju Global Motors participating.

The Gwangju Byeolnuri DX-Academy is the name of the project group selected for the '2023 Vocational Transition Education Institution Designation and Operation Pilot Project (HiVE Type 2)' led by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea. It is a consortium of Gwangju City, Chosun University of Science and Technology (lead university), Gwangju Health University, and Donggang University (participating universities).

This project focuses on the three major DX regional specialized industries in Gwangju: mobility interior and electronic components, biomedical material components, and industrial application and innovative artificial intelligence (AI) fields. The core is to provide level-based digital transformation (DX) competency education courses through cooperation between specialized colleges and metropolitan local governments for the digital transformation of regional specialized industries.

Going forward, Chosun University of Science and Technology plans to nurture specialized local talents in professional fields based on the strengths of specialized colleges that have flexibly responded to social changes, create conditions for regional settlement, and contribute to the symbiotic coexistence of government, industry, academia, and research.

To this end, the university will strengthen industry-academia cooperation to activate digital transformation (DX) in regional specialized industries and continuously provide level-based competency education courses for local employees.
