Dog Enjoying Surfing in Peru Becomes a Sensation
Owner Works as a Surfing Instructor
A dog enjoying surfing on a beach in Peru has captured public attention.
On the 27th (local time), the British Guardian and others reported that a dog named 'Epruz' is enjoying surfing with its owner. Epruz is a Jack Russell Terrier, 4 years old this year. This breed is known for its high activity level and remarkable stamina despite its small size.
His owner, Mauro Canella, said, "Epruz loves the sea." Canella currently works as a surfing instructor at San Bartolo Beach in Lima, the capital of Peru.
Canella said he started surfing with Epruz about a year ago. When Canella steers from behind the surfboard, Epruz, wearing a yellow vest, stands at the front of the board and enjoys surfing.
Canella shared that although Epruz sometimes feels cold while surfing, he generally enjoys it well. Also, Canella said, "Sometimes while surfing with Epruz, he falls into the water because he can't withstand the waves, but it's fun."
Not only Canella and Epruz, but it is also reported that it is not difficult to see animals and humans enjoying surfing together at San Bartolo Beach. The Guardian stated that on weekends, at least 12 pairs of dogs and owners enjoy surfing.
Previously, in 2010, a surfer surfing with his alpaca at this location also attracted attention. It is said that the surfer trained for 10 years to get on the board with the alpaca.
